High Hotels, Ltd. was formed in July of 1988 to develop, acquire, and manage, limited feature hotels in the Mid-Atlantic States.
High Hotels currently operates ten hotels as independent
franchises from Hilton Hotels, Corporation and has most
recently opened a Courtyard By Marriott in Lancaster, PA.
Those hotels are located in Lancaster,
Harrisburg
West, Reading/Wyomissing,
Wilkes-Barre,
York,
Pennsylvania, Annapolis,
Maryland and Middletown,
New York.
High Hotels opened its first hotel - a
129 room Hampton Inn - 1989, in Greenfield
Corporate Center located in Lancaster, PA. In 1990,
this hotel won the first place Winegardner Award presented
by then Promus Hotels, Inc., as the top-performing hotel
in the system.
In 1990, High Hotels opened its second hotel - another
129
room Hampton Inn - in Rossmoyne Business Center located
in Harrisburg-West, PA. In 1991, this hotel also won the
first place Winegardner Award presented by then Promus Hotels,
Inc., as the top-performing hotel in the system (Lancaster
received second place); in 1992 it won third place; and
in 1993 it was "Inn of the Year".
In 1992, High Hotels opened its third hotel, a 144
room Hampton Inn located in the Galleria Mall complex
in York, PA.
All three of these hotels have been awarded Promus Hotels’ "Circle of Excellence Award" for being in the top ten percent of the Hampton Inn system every year in which each hotel was open.
In 1995, High Hotels opened its fourth hotel and its first
all suites product, an 84 suite hotel, the Homewood
Suites Hotel - in the Rossmoyne Business Center in Harrisburg-West,
PA. In the fall of 1995, this hotel won an award from Promus
Hotels, Inc. for having the "Highest Guest Satisfaction
Scores" in the history of Homewood Suites Hotels.
The Hampton
Inn & Suites - Annapolis, Maryland opened in 1997
as the company’s fifth hotel and first hotel outside of
Pennsylvania. The Homewood
Suites - Reading/Wyomissing, Pennsylvania and the Hampton
Inn - Middletown, New York both opened in 1999 as the
company’s sixth and seventh hotels, respectively.
The Company completed construction of a 32-suite addition to its Homewood Suites - Harrisburg West Hotel and plans to open a Hilton Garden Inn in Wilkes-Barre, PA in December of 2002.
In 2003, High Hotels opened their first hotel franchise
within the Marriott family of brands. The 134 room Courtyard
by Marriott opened in Middletown, New York.
In July of 2005, High Hotels opened their tenth hotel,
a Courtyard
By Marriott located in the Greenfield Corporate Center,
Lancaster, PA. This 133-room hotel offers business and leisure
travelers the amenities and service they have requested.
High Hotels development plans are to continue to grow its number of hotels by acquiring sites in defined market areas within Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, New York, and Maryland and constructing limited service hotels under franchises from major hotel chains like Hilton and Marriott. Additionally, High Hotels is looking to acquire existing limited service hotels within the same geographic areas.
