The High Hotels Internship Program is designed to match education and experience levels with one of three possible internship formats:
- General Work Experience: Designed to meet the needs of an intern with little or no hotel work experience, early in his or her college education, or as required by the intern’s college program.
- Focused Work Experience: Designed for interns who return to High Hotels for a second summer or those who have previous work experience in a hotel.
- Strategic Project Experience: Designed for interns who return to High Hotels for a third summer, have previous work experience in a hotel, or are close to graduation. Interns in this option will be exposed to hotel management practices and will reinforce their understanding of the industry by completing strategic project assignments.
Every High Hotel intern is provided with a job description and performance objectives, and receives at least two performance evaluations during the course of the internship. Upon conclusion of the program, every intern is expected to prepare a presentation for the High Hotel Corporate team highlighting his or her work experience.
Participants in the management trainee program are provided the opportunity to rotate through five hotel departments over six months, following a specific training curriculum. At the successful conclusion of the program, trainees will be considered for a management position at High Hotels pending a performance evaluation. Qualified graduates are typically considered for the positions of Assistant General Manager, Housekeeping Operations Manager or Sales Manager.
Trainees in the program are assigned a mentor who guides the trainee through the program and provides support and assistance. Other program requirements include a series of external classroom training seminars, and an orientation series of all corporate functions including Regional Management, Human Resources, Finance / Accounting, Legal / Treasury, and Safety. The core training rotation will take place at various hotel locations across all departments.
We accept qualified applicants for internships and the management trainee positions on a variable schedule.
